What is matched betting

Can you make money matched betting?

Well, the simple answer is yes, if you have the patience to do everything correctly. Making sure you read all the small print about any given free promotional offer bet…

Let me explain how it works…

My first piece of advice is to read this very slowly so you fully understand it. At first, it may seem a bit confusing but once you understand it you will fully realise just how simple it is.

First, you need to find an online betting shop that is offering new customers a promotional offer. Here is an example. Ladbrokes is offering new customers a special offer, place a £10.00 bet and receive a £50.00 bet.

Next, you need to open a BETFAIR EXCHANGE account. I will try and explain how to place your first matched bet in the simplest way possible.

Using Back Bets

what is matched betting

On most online betting shops you put bets on called Back bets. An example is Spurs v Leeds, a back bet is where you bet that either Spurs will win or Leeds will win. The other sort of bet you are going to make is something called a lay bet. Now you can only make these sorts of bets on very few sites, the main one is called BETFAIR EXCHANGE.  A lay bet is where you make the complete opposite bet at the same time on the same match.

So, you make a Back bet on Ladbrokes for £10.00 on spurs to win @ 2/1.

Doing this has unlocked your special offer from Ladbrokes for a £50.00 free bet but forget that for the time being. Now you want to go onto your BETFAIR EXCHANGE account and put a £10.00 lay bet on spurs not to win. You have now spent £20.00 of your own money but you can’t lose a penny. You also can’t win a penny because both bets cancel each other out, but it has enabled you to get your free £50.00 special offer from Ladbrokes.

The Results of the Match

Now the result of the match was Leeds beat Spurs so you lost your £10.00 on Ladbrokes, but gained a £50.00 free bet. You also won on BETFAIR because you bet that Leeds would win, at the same odds that spurs would win @ 2/1 on Ladbrokes, so on BETFAIR you won £20.00. So, you laid out £20.00, and you lost £10.00, and you won back £20.00. So cashwise you are no better or worse off but you have unlocked the £50.00 offer from Ladbrokes. The next thing you are going to do is exactly the same procedure again only this time you are going to use your £50.00 offer bet on Ladbrokes. At the same time you are going to match the same game but the opposite results on BETFAIR with your own cash. However now, because one of the bets is a free bet, whichever one wins the back bet with Ladbrokes, or the lay bet with BETFAIR, this time you will make a profit.

Profit Taking

Now you must withdraw that profit back to your bank account. If your win is with Ladbrokes and your free bet then make sure you read their terms and conditions about how long it will take to receive your funds. As every online betting shop has its own set of terms and conditions for withdrawal times.

You can follow this procedure hundreds of times but every time you have finished using your special promotion offer bet you must move to another online betting site. One that is offering their special promotional offer to entice new customers.

There really are hundreds of bookies offering promotional free bets to make money online.

Below I will give you a list of online betting shops that are offering free promotional offers to new customers. Also, the required amount of funds that are needed to make a bet to enable you to unlock their special promotional free offer bet, and how much they are offering.
